This Refund Policy applies to services provided by Gopherwood & Monique, a New Jersey–based design and consulting studio. By engaging our services or submitting payment, you agree to the terms outlined below.

Nature of Our Services

​

Gopherwood & Monique provides professional interior decorating consultation and creative advisory services. These services involve time, expertise, planning, and intellectual labor that begin upon booking, preparation, or delivery of work.

Because of the customized and professional nature of our services, refunds are limited as outlined below.

Consultation Fees

• Consultation fees are non-refundable once the consultation has occurred.

• If a consultation is canceled with reasonable advance notice, rescheduling may be offered at our discretion.

• Missed appointments or same-day cancellations may be forfeited.

Design & Creative Services

Payments made toward design services, retainers, deposits, or project fees are non-refundable once work has begun.

This includes, but is not limited to:

• Research and planning

• Concept development

• Design direction

• Documentation, presentations, or written recommendations

• Time reserved exclusively for your project

If a project is paused or terminated by the client after work has commenced, payment for completed work remains due and non-refundable.

Deposits & Retainers

Deposits and retainers secure availability, project scheduling, and preparatory work. As such:

• Deposits and retainers are non-refundable

• They may not be transferred to other clients or projects without written approval

Exceptions

Refunds will only be considered in rare circumstances where required by applicable New Jersey consumer protection laws or where Gopherwood & Monique determines, in writing, that a refund is appropriate.

Any approved refund will be issued using the original method of payment, unless otherwise agreed.

No Guarantees of Outcome

Design is inherently subjective. Refunds will not be issued based on:

• Personal preference or change of mind

• Aesthetic disagreement

• External decisions by municipalities, contractors, vendors, or third parties

• Outcomes beyond our control

Third-Party Costs

Gopherwood & Monique is not responsible for refunds related to third-party expenses, including but not limited to:

• Vendor fees

• Permit costs

• Contractor services

• Printing, materials, or external consultants

Such costs are governed by the policies of the respective third parties.
